Introduction
Torque is a group dedicated to automotive enthusiasts. The members of this group pride themselves on their vast knowledge of all things automotive and are very passionate about a variety of vehicles. They are the first exclusively automotive-based group on HackForums.
History
Torque was founded on 9th December 2016 after Cameron purchased the previous iteration, Titans, from Realizm. He acquired the group with the intention of doing something new and posted a thread asking the wider Hack Forums community for their thoughts on an automotive group; the response he received was overwhelmingly positive. Another thread was created shortly after with a poll in regards to what the name of the group should be. The options were:
- Boosted
- NOS
- Torque
- Pit Stop
- RPM
- Turbo
- Aftermarket
Torque received the largest amount of votes, and therefore the group name was decided.
They have held two recruitments. The first recruitment took place on 13th January 2017 and they received a mass of applicants, the thread itself having over 300 replies. The second recruitment didn't receive as many applicants as the first but captured the attention of those very keen on cars.
