Overview

The Hack Forums L33t upgrade is the first upgrade which can be purchased by anyone, for anyone on this site. It is the cheapest and most ‘convenient’ upgrade as any member can purchase it either for themselves or another member, regardless of when they joined or their reputation.

This upgrade was added to the site on May 17th, 2008 under the banner of being a ‘Subscriber’ and was a $5 fee annually, which expired and had to be renewed. It is currently a one-time fee of $18.99 USD plus any fees.

The benefits of upgrading to the L33t status are as follows:

• Can use uploaded avatars
• Ability to edit usertitle
• Ability to change username
• Can close your own threads
• Lifetime upgrade
• Ability to subscribe to threads
• Removal of all ads
• Can use special characters in username
• Allowed to use an image in your signature
• Additional 1450 messages for PM folders (1500 total)
• Max Post Length setting is 12,000 characters
• Ability to give reputation from 0 to +1.
• Viewing of others warning points
• Can use PM tracking system
• Can edit/delete your own posts without time limits
• Entry into subscriber only contests and drawings

Upgrading Process

Users who wish to upgrade an account must go to the ‘Upgrade’ link in the navigation and fill in the profile of the person wishing to be upgraded. If a member wishes to upgrade themselves, they leave this blank. The user fills in the required billing information and pays the fee. They are to wait up to 48 hours to be upgraded. If that time passes and they have not been upgraded, they are to PM Omniscient with their payment details.

Conditions of Upgrading

• Not to abuse the reputation feature.
• You are not allowed to refund/chargeback the payment, or your account will be closed and your identity will be publicized.
• You must use real information.
