Overview
2011 introduced the third official Hack Forums April Fool’s event. Instead of having their user profiles changed, Hack Forums users were offered a fake position in a group.
Specifics
A message was displayed to members who were either L33t or Ub3r that they were approved to be a trial member in a new group – ‘Lofo Prilas’ When they submitted this application, they were prompted with a congratulatory message and the link “http://www.hackforums.net/nnod.php” as their Mod Control Panel link.
Omniscient then collected these applications and the answers to the questions, and then posted the link to them all, which can be found below http://www.hackforums.net/aprilfools2011.php
1375 applications were submitted as a result from this prank.
Effects
As there is no list of which ID is each user, it isn’t possible to associate a member with a post. Some rare members have remembered their ID number or have searched and found their post, however they may be unwilling to give up this information.
