Overview
2009 was the start of the annual Hack Forums April Fool’s events, in which Omniscient plays a prank on the forum. Omniscient decided to make the members think that Hack Forums was seized by the FBI.
Specifics
When a visitor tried to visit the front page of Hack Forums, he/she were redirected to http://hackforums.net/fbi.html. The page had the FBI seal on it as well as the following message:
This site has been seized by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. For more information on the case of Department of Justice vs. John Doe (#4953215573) please read here.
The link led to a thread assuring the user that Hack Forums was not seized and this was just an April Fools Prank.
