The Legacy usergroup was founded on May 2013 by the user Vinnie, when an unexpected and secretive exchange between himself and WiFi. occurred. Little else is known about the transfer in ownership. The group was the third official group to center around gaming, after The Gamers and Respawn. The group was changed later into the Game of Thrones-based group The Lannisters.
