| Introduction = The Mentor position on [[Hack Forums]] is one of the most notable positions on the forum, with members moderating the different sections of the forum. They are given a special userbar and abilities which other members do not have. They are a separate group from [[Staff]] and [[Administrators]], however most staff seem to be former Mentors.

To be added to the Mentor usergroup, the member must be chosen by [[Omniscient]], with unknown requirements and processes.

All staff are honorary members of this group, as well as other members who remain helpful and steadfast on the website.

==Becoming a Mentor==

There is currently only one guaranteed method on becoming a mentor, which is stepping down from a Staff or Admin position. The privilege of Mentorship is earned, and appointed by Omniscient. The status of being a mentor can not be purchased.

Aside from that, Omniscient has stated the following about the Mentor group:

| History = Originally the group was known as the HJT Team, or the HijackThis Team, but it was then slightly modified and named the Malware Removal Team, or MRT. HijackThis was formed by Valiant on June 17th, 2010, while the name change to the Malware Removal Team came about in December of 2012. In August of 2013, the Malware Removal Team team decided to split into two separate groups: one group for graduates and the other for students. They were the only group on Hack Forums to have a section that all members of Hack Forums could view. In this section, users who believed their computer may have been infected with a virus were able to follow a set list of instructions and then make a thread that would help them disinfect their machine (after following instructions from a graduate).
Upon being a graduate of the course, the members were given a special award- the [[MRT Graduate]] and could officially help members with their issues in the appropriate section.

| Biography = Judge Dredd first joined [[Hack Forums]] on January 6, 2008. He was one of the administrators of Hack Forums. His main area of management was the reputation system. Judge Dredd has been widely criticized for his work at times, by members who have suffered from the infamous "rep fuck" (now named a rep kill), although he has also been highly accredited for his constant effort around the forums and his ability to deal with the numerous instances of abuse reported by members. Judge Dredd has been an administrator of the forum for well over two years, and has been most active in the Reputation Abuse Support section, where members appeal against reputation which they have been given for reasons against Hack Forums policy. Along with the said section, Judge Dredd has been active in The Lounge, Staff Discussion, and Rules and Announcements, News and Feedback sections with 525, 193 and 156 posts respectively. He has averaged 5.81 posts per day over his years of presence on Hack Forums.

Judge Dredd was later demoted from Admin due to personal reasons. He was the owner of the group [[Complexity]]. This is rare to see because Omniscient doesn't sell groups anymore and you must buy them from a group leader. Omniscient believed Judge Dredd had done a great job the past years as admin and has granted him this opportunity to lead and own his own group. Actively posting on the forum for the past 4 years, administrating both the forum and the reputation system as an administrator and helping [[Omniscient]], as well as spending countless hours on Hack Forums.

On June 19, 2015, Judge Dredd was demoted from his Staff position after several months of inactivty and was made a Mentor once again.

On January 5, 2017, Judge Dredd's account was closed, by [[Omniscient]], due to inactivity.
