A few months down the line, he didn't have any funds to upgrade his profile, so he decided to enter a contest. He came across the site after wanting to try to hack new accounts on the game Habbo Hotel via some new methods--Remote Administration and Keylogging. Although he was new to the forums, he quickly gained knowledge in general subjects and in areas that peeked his interest.

After becoming a leader of [[RATs Crew]], on June 23, 2011, he started to give back to the community through products and information.

| Biography = Tony Stark started on [[Hack Forums]] in 2010. He spent his early years on the forum reading tutorials and took a step into a number of fields. He found interest in areas such as graphic design, pentesting, coding, marketing and many more.

When asked why Tony Stark joined [[Hack Forums]], he stated:

| Biography = AsSaSs@iN started playing the Battlefield 1942 demo and was curious how he could take down a server. Through googling, he stumbled across [[Hack Forums]]. He joined [[Hack Forums]] on the 24th of June 2009. Though, he never actually attacked or attempted to take down a server. Instead, he became interested in the [[White Hat Hacking]] section; his curiosity was the reason for joining and continuing to visit the site. Thereupon he pursued the path of [[Valiant]] in the [[White Hat Malware, Virus, and Rat Removal Help]] section. He was interested in what he was doing with the [[HiJack This! Team]] eventually then [[Malware Removal Team]] and wanted to enroll in the training program. He ended up the training as an MRT Graduate and worked in the [[Malware Removal Team]]. Since then, he continued to help and teach members in the forum.

| Biography = Grin joined Hack Forums on May 7, 2011, to learn about the furry little rodent that could infect machines. He left the forums due to disliking the general site layout and forgot completely about it for around eight months. His computer got infected and was unusable. No one in his family had the ability to assist him, and he asked someone at school for help. He met a user named Style who reintroduced him to Hack Forums. Grin gave the site another chance, this time he found the forum captivating. He focused more on what he "liked."

Style convinced him to upgrade "VIP" on the site. He paid him in cash, and Style upgraded him to [[L33T]]. After a couple of days being on the site, he discovered the iOS section. He told himself, "This is where I'm going to stay. I have found my paradise." Grin reached over 10,000 posts in the iOS and iDevices section!

His account got [[UB3R]] approval, but he didn't have the funds at that time. [[Bugga]] was running a giveaway at the time for [[The Black Knights]] members only, and he was lucky enough to be one of the members to receive an upgrade. Grin didn't join the forum for "free stuff" nor did he join it to scam anyone. He stayed on it because he thought the forum was more entertaining than any game he has ever played. His most important parts of Hack Forums was the HF [[Writers]]. He was blacklisted from the writers at first, and was added once again but kicked right after. He was re-added by [[iHydra]]. After being on the site for four years, he didn't visit any particular sections. He would always hit the View New Posts/Threads a few times before he would close the tab.

On December 2nd, 2015, [[Omniscient]] [https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=5065871&pid=48792486#pid48792486 decided to close Grin's account] after he was involved in a scam of about $1000. [[Omniscient]] gave Grin the chance to pay back the user, if he did his account would be reopened.

Even though [https://hackforums.net/member.php?action=profile&uid=1365773 Crya] was never paid back, Grin's account was opened again.

Grin's [https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=5077441&pid=48776989#pid48776989 last post] was on November 30th, 2015 and he account was eventually closed on July 12th, 2016.

Factor8™ first joined Hack Forums on September 27, 2009. He joined because he was searching for a place to spend some time and have more online activity. He also wanted to broaden his knowledge and learn more about computer security. Hack Forums is the first forum that he has ever registered for. When he was a normal member, Factor8™ had no goals and would only browse the forum and read threads that he found interesting. | Biography = One of the earliest and most known members of [[Hack Forums]]. He has contributed with hundreds of quality threads, which includes tutorials, guides, userscripts, and giveaways. He learned Javascript on [[Hack Forums]], which led him to create multiple userscripts for the rest of the community. He helped [[Emylbus]], [[Roger Waters]], and many others with their userscripts, which are still up and working today. He also released close to 50 scripts under his own name, and these userscripts can still be found under his threads today, and most (if not all) are still valid.

'Snorlax received every positive award that existed at the time (17 of 54) back in early 2015. He later asked [[Omniscient]] if he could remove 2 of his awards which resulted in [[Omniscient]] getting mad. 'Snorlax ended up with a repkill, and all awards removed (except donation awards). Later, [[Omniscient]] admitted that [https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=4407703 he was at fault], and 'Snorlax was granted the [[Diamond]] award after a while.

| Biography = MeshCollider first found his way into [[Hack Forums]] whilst searching for methods and ways to perform SQL injection. His interest piqued by the forum, he soon registered an account, but left it for a couple of months before finally logging back and becoming active.

MeshCollider first involved himself with the [[Programming, Coding, and Languages]] category. Some notable boards that he was active in were the [[C/C++/Obj-C Programming]], [[Java Language, JVM, and the JRE]], and [[Android Operating System]] board (before the [[Android Operating System]] board was reclassified). During his period of high activity, he made many contributions and friends, including some notable users eg. [[Looka]], the current Java Language, JVM and the JRE moderator.

Whilst he was contributing to the coding sector in Hack Forums, he also contributed to the [[Omnicoin]] sub-board. For his vast unofficial contributions to Omnicoin as an individual, he was offered an official position as a member of the Omnicoin development team, which he gladly accepted. By the time he was invited, his contributions were well received by the community.

As MeshCollider's popularity rose, he was invited into then new group [[Specialists]] by [[Bull™]] as the leader of its coding sector. He ran numerous helpdesks under the Specialists’ name. Before he was invited into the group, he created many hacking tutorials to help benefit the community.

In conjunction with [[Abraham Lincoln]], MeshCollider coded the OMC plugin for managing Omnicoin wallets; this plugin also came with a number of other features. The plugin was implemented into Hack Forums, and was well received by the community as way to introduce more users to Omnicoin. In return for his hard work, MeshCollider was awarded [[3p1c]] (when the HF XMPP was launched), [[Great Thinker]] (after he sent his and Abraham Lincoln’s OMC plugin to Omniscient) and the OMC award. MeshCollider also won the 57th Member of the Month competition in August 2015.

As of 13th August 2015, MeshCollider was awarded the Sticky Man award for [http://www.hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=4492575 this thread].

On 10th July 2016, MeshCollider was banned from HF for 3 months with the reason "wrong move". It is unknown even to himself what this means or what the ban was caused by. Along with the ban, MeshCollider had his Member of the Month, Great Thinker and Genius awards removed, and was RKO'ed down from 939 rep.

Omniscient subsequently decided to shorten MeshCollider's ban to one week because he had realized it was a misunderstanding. Eventually Omniscient granted a second stickyman award for MeshCollider's Android tutorial, and gave the great thinker and genius awards back. But Omniscient then went on to postban MeshCollider and remove his signature privileges for an indefinite amount of time.

After privately resolving the situation a few months later, MeshCollider had his signature and post privileges reinstated. MeshCollider was offered a job by Omniscient as a plugin developer for Hack Forums, and developed the HF API as well as other small plugins such as a group leader management page for group owners.

After posting a tutorial on the Lightning Network in the Coin Speak subforums, MeshCollider was awarded his third Sticky Man award as well as the Bitcoinage award with a custom reason. Omni has stated MeshCollider will be responsible for setting up a Lightning Network node for Hack Forums on testnet.

| Biography = Positive joined Hack Forums on May 22, 2010. He found the forum by searching "kicking people offline" and one of the first results he found was a link to a thread on the site. When Positive first signed up, he lacked any true goals that he decided to set himself on the forum so just started to post in various topics, at an increasing rate each day--he currently has an average of just under 9 posts a day. Positive has made a total of over 8,000 posts in a large range of different sub forums; his most active sub forum being the [[Lounge]], with over 2,000 posts. He's also made well over a 1,000 posts in the [[Rules, Announcements, News, and Feedback]] section, as well as 580+ posts in the [[Suggestions and Ideas]] section. Positive's current [[reputation]] count, as of December 15, 2012 is 1,340 which places him in the top 30 users at Hack Forums when ordered by their reputation. He currently has only one major goal: to achieve a prestigious position as [[Staff]], especially after becoming Mentor when he realized that becoming Staff was a real possibility. When asked whom on Hack Forums had made a significant effect on his career here, he answered that the members [[Paradoxum]], [[Genuine]] and [[AsSaSs@iN]] all had the largest impact on him. He said he has always looked up to them, and he has always wanted to be like them.

Positive upgraded to [[HF Ub3r]] on November 1, 2010, around 5 and a half months after first joining the forum. He had also donated $20 to receive the [[Emerald Donator]] award on June 30, 2011 and had donated an immense total of $500 in order to receive the [[Master Donator]] award on March 4, 2012. Positive also received the [[Liberty Reserve]] head on August 21, 2011 after a donation of $20 through the online payment processor Liberty Reserve. He found about the site due to his interests in reverse engineering and eventually he saw a link to the site through another forum. Since joining, Xch4ng3 has always "tried to help out as many members as possible" and his efforts showed as he was promoted to [[Staff]] in 2010.

In December 2010, Xch4ng3 opened an e-currency exchange service which ran until January 2011. He decided to close his service after the dispute thread made by PikeUE.

He stepped down from Staff in February 2011. In April, he was reinstated. Xch4ng3 has remained as Staff until 2013, when he became an administrator.

| Biography = RDCA joined [[Hack Forums]] on December 2nd, 2010. He had been infected and while someone was helping him remove the virus, he was introduced to Hack Forums. He joined to see what it was about, but left because he didn't want to be a part of the hacking community. | Biography = Genuine is a HF member who registered in January 2011. He is now a member of staff and is considered a notable member. Along with Glassy Genuine is a co-leader of the [[Red Lions]]. Genuine found HF while searching for information on Host Booters. Being an active gamer, he came across plenty of cheaters, after sending a voice message to a 'cheater' asking what shell booter he was using, Genuine found HF.

When Genuine signed up to HF he did not think that he would get past being a Ub3r member, however when asked Genuine stated

Respect. This is something that Genuine believes is very important within the HF community. For Genuine to gain respect he 'acted himself and treated others well'. Everyone deserves a little respect no matter what they have done in the past is something that Genuine strongly believes in. Also, something key to Genuine's success is that although some people may not like him he still tries his best to help everyone out. Other than some small choices that Genuine has made he holds no regrets and is happy with what he has achieved on HF.

Genuine enjoys being a member of staff but also admits that it can be extremely stressful at times, he says that at times work can be slow, which is good, because it allows some time to be taken for himself to just browse and post on the forum like a normal member. Overall Genuine thinks that being a member of staff is not as fun as you might think, however he enjoys the experiences that the position gives him. Something that Genuine would say to any upcoming members of staff would be 'Have a few last hours on the forum before accepting the invitation from Omniscient'.

Genuine believes that within the last few months HF has become an even better place. He thinks that the the trolling has stopped more that usual and the members are making the quality of the forum even more fantastic every day. Genuine says that he sees a lot of potential in many members and thinks that the current Admins are doing a fantastic job on maintaining the forum.

Following the demotion of [[Judge Dredd]] from his administrative position, Genuine was granted the position as operator of the [[Member of the Month]] contest, including moderator powers over the applicable subforums.

| Biography = Chris joined [[Hack Forums]] on January 1, 2011. He signed up for the reason most people did--he wanted to learn how to perform a DDoS, hack, and do various other things. When he joined, he didn't have any intentions to try to become Staff. All that mattered was to "learn hacking skills and move on". Chris learned more about black hat-related things six months after signing-up. Eventually, he was invited to be a part of Staff.

| Biography = AsSaSs@iN started playing the Battlefield 1942 demo and was curious how he could take down a server. Through googling, he stumbled across Hack Forums. He joined Hack Forums on 06-24-2009. Though, he never actually attacked or attempted to take down a server. Instead, he became interested in the White Hat Hacking section; His curiosity was the reason for joining and continuing to visit Hack Forums. Thereupon he pursued the path of [[Valiant]] in the malware removal section. He was interested in what he was doing with the [[HiJack This! Team]] eventually then [[Malware Removal Team]] and wanted to enroll in the training program. He ended up the training as an MRT Graduate and worked in the [[Malware Removal Team]]. Since then, he continued to help and teach members in the forum.

* We do not allow multiple accounts except a UID_TEMP account as explained in our "Stolen and Lost HF Accounts" help doc.

* You cannot link to competing sites. We consider competing sites to be anything that has topics similar to those under our Hacking tab.
* No site goals such as "1000 Posts" or "100 Reps".
* All text must be in English or readable as English in the case of fancy unicode.
* You cannot impersonate staff, admins, or mentors.
* No advertising of ddos, stress testing, or booter services in your profile.
* No linking to shock sites.
* Usernames must have at least 4 visible characters.
* Profiles should not have special characters which break or alter HF layout.

==I received a "Profile Violation" warning but it doesn't say anything else. What was it for?==
If you did not receive a PM with your warning then I don't know. But if you read this entire Help Doc, you should be able to figure it out. Just make sure to understand our policies to avoid future warnings.

==What is the maximum signature image size?==
Signature images can be no wider than 650px, no taller than 200px, and no bigger than 500k.

==What if my signature only has text? Is there a limit?==
We don't enforce an exact size with text. Our settings are 255 characters including mycode. Do not enlarge your signature with enormous text or lots of spaces. Just be reasonable with your sig size.

==Why not extend the max characters or at least discount the mycode for signatures?==
This is our limit. You'll have to deal with it. We are not going to extend it or change how it works. Everyone has the same limitations on HF.

==Why can't I upload an avatar?==
HF has some default avatars in the gallery. Upgraded members are the only ones who can use avatar uploads. If you've received a no permission page, it's likely you're a regular member attempting to upload. Use the avatar URL which means you must have the image hosted elsewhere. Please make sure the remote avatar is within site guidelines.

==What's the max avatar size for remote avatars?==
Remote avatars are resized to fit on the postbit but MyBB does not check the K size of the file. However, we enforce a 75k max size. Anyone using a higher sized avatar will be warned and their avatar removed.

==Can I use the same avatar or signature as a staff member?==
No you may not. Impersonating staff with your username, usertitle, signature, or avatar is going to be a reason to ban you. We take this really seriously. The potential for abuse is enormous so it will not be allowed even as a joke.

==What are the rules for usertitles?==
Basically the same as all the other rules for a profile. Don't impersonate staff, flame members, use religious or political symbols and don't advertise a competing forum.

==I have a forum or am a member of one can I advertise it in my profile?==
HF has a strict rule about advertising competing sites. We consider competing sites any forum with subjects or forum categories that are similar to ones under our Hacking tab. Advertising is not allowed in profiles.

==It seems outrageous you don't allow religion or politics on HF. Why is that?==
HF is not the place for you to spread your faith or recruit for your cause. It was never designed for such discussion. We have an international community and we want all members to respect each other for who they are not what they believe in or represent. We wish the world was a respectful happy place but it's not. We are not going to allow strife to be part of HF.

==Can I have sexy pics in my profile?==
To a point you can. We do not allow nudity and if staff feels your image is too overt, it could be removed and you might receive a warning.

==Someone is flaming me or calling me a scammer in their signature. What can I do?==
Contact staff please. We'll look into it.

==Can I have site goals in my sig?==
We used to allow this but we no longer do. Goals we don't allow include reps, groups, posts, or upgrades. See rule #16 in Rules Help Doc.

==Can I have referral links in my sig? Stuff like adf.ly?==
Yes this is allowed on HF. Be aware Sharecash and some other services are censored.

==Can I have donation request or link in my signature?==
Yes you can have them in your signature but we have rules about threads/posts for begging. If you want a donation begging signature, go for it.

==I don't see where my MSN, AIM, or email display in my profile. Can I put them in my signature?==
Yes you can but we advise you do not. This site has some malicious users that might use your personal information in ways you don't expect. You can be targeted very easily by posting any private data about yourself on this site. So be careful if you do.

==Can I put fake links or shock site links in my signature?==
No you cannot. We won't allow deceiving links such as fake spoilers links or links disguised in order to trick members into visiting shock sites. Use some common sense please.

==I was rep killed by staff. Can I complain about it in my profile?==
You are not allowed to rep kill complain anywhere on your profile or even in posts. You will be banned for one month if you do.
